About MALT Publishing

MALT Publishing was founded in 2009, publishing educational children's books.

Our first titles were a series of Children's books which explore financial concepts through everyday stories.

Our History

2011 (Chapter 3)

Throughout December we're out and about supporting a number of local Christmas fairs and events. As the year ends we have four new titles in progress and 2012 looks set to be another great year for MALT Publishing.

20 November Kitty's Bicycle is our second eBook to go live on the iBookstore

18 November A Rainy Day is the second book published in the Weatherman Stan series

3 November we go digital as Jennifer's Eggs is our first eBook to go live on the iBookstore

1 November we take on some extra help to expand the team of our growing enterprise.

October Gordon the Goblin makes his first appearance in The Quest In A Vest

20 May We took Weatherman Stan to meet real life presenter and series inspiration Richard Angwin

10 May Jennifer's Eggs and Kitty's Bicycle are featured in the Guardian Education Supplement "Lessons in finance".

16 April We're at Waterstones, Staines, for an Easter book signing event assisted by three week-old chickens.

2010 (Chapter 2)

8 December MALT Publishing is approved to supply high street retailer Waterstones

30 September Family run business Remous is appointed as our printer and our first volume run is printed.

14 August Author Andy Lunness formally opens Warmley Flower Show, supporting the Barth Syndrome Trust

31 July Weatherman Stan makes his debut in A Windy Day, the first book by Mark Trewren

1 July Our titles Kitty's Bicycle and Jennifer's Eggs are awarded the pfeg Quality Mark

24 May We make the top-ten shortlist in the Take One Small Step small business competition.

10 May Our ISBN allocation is received and our current titles are formally assigned.

12 April MALT Publishing enters the Take One Small Step small business competition.

11 April Our first retail distributor, the station shop at Midsomer Norton, begins stocking our products.

1 April No joke! The first proofs of our second book Jennifer's Eggs arrive and are sold in hours.

12 March We're at Fishponds Library with Chatterbooks for a pre-launch workshop based on Jennifer's Eggs.

5 March The first Jigsaws from Kitty's Bicycle are produced by our partner RycoCrafts.

2009 (Chapter 1)

19th November saw us out signing copies at a local event to raise funds for CLICsargent.

16 October Our debut book Kitty's Bicycle is launched, MALT Publishing is officially created.

July Author Andy Lunness partners with illustrator Mark Trewren and things really start moving.
